China Society of Image and Graphics (CSIG) released the list of Excellent Doctoral Dissertations on November 21. Huang Zilong, a doctoral graduate of 2020 of EIC supervised by Professor Liu Wenyu, was awarded the Award for Excellent Doctoral Dissertations of CSIG of 2021.
CSIG has received 75 doctoral dissertations since June 1, 2021. Ten dissertations win the excellent award, and four dissertations won the nomination award.
About Huang Zilong:
Huang Zilong is a doctoral student of the class of 2016, whose supervisor is Professor Liu Wenyu. His research interest is computer vision and semantic segmentation. He put forward a series of algorithms for semantic segmentation and has published papers in top journals and conferences in the field of computer vision like TPAMI、TIP、CVPR、ICCV, which are cited more than 1400 times. CCNet proposed by him is used by Deepmind as the basic module of AlphaFold2, a protein structure prediction network, adopted by Axial DeepLab proposed by Google, and incorporated by MMSegmentation, the mainstream object segmentation framework. CCNet has been published for nearly 2 years and cited more than 780 times. He participated in many world computer vision competitions and won the second place in the first and second YouTube large-scale video object segmentation competitions. He is also the champion of Mobile AI monocular depth estimation competition, the champion of the short video face analysis race track of third Person in Context , etc. At present, he is a senior researcher in Tencent (Shanghai).
